    Title: Assistant Software Testing and Integration Laboratory Manager/Field Engineer

                                                             

    Location: Ft. Huachuca, Arizona (EPG)

    Clearance Level Required: Candidate must be able to obtain Secret Clearance. Active or interim security clearance a plus.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    •·         Manage and maintain the Software Testing and Integration Laboratory (Lab) utilized for testing by Quality Control Specialists and SW/HW Developers. Troubleshoot field configurations and maintain field-relevant configurations for development and testing. 

    •·         Maintain configurations current with field testing requirements.  Use of M&S may be required for proper tool testing and troubleshooting efforts.

    •·         Verify proper set-up and configuration of equipment and maintain a professional and orderly appearance in the Lab.

    •·         Interface with Government customers, vendors, and various company departments to support demonstrations, configuration requirements and other requirements affecting the Development and Quality Assurance (QA) areas.

    •·         Maintain current inventory on a monthly basis.  Turn-in, with Government approval, all extraneous or out-of-date equipment.

    •·         Develop and maintain configuration documents on equipment and designs.  Manage and document configuration of hardware and software in a detailed and accurate manner.  Documentation and updates are to be maintained on a monthly basis, via SharePoint.

    •·         Lab personnel will be organized.

    •·         Maintain, coordinate and communicate the Lab schedule.

    •·         Maintain an equipment inventory to include sign-in/sign-out receipts.

    •·         Have specific knowledge in accordance with the qualifications and future required qualifications referenced below.

    Qualifications:

    • •·         Computer Hardware Configuration - Able to install and uninstall computer hardware.  Will have a practical understanding of driver interfacing and different operating environments.
    • •·         TCP/IP Engineering Knowledge – Possess practical understanding of the OSI model.  Understands and is able to configure router and switches (CISCO).  Shall have practical understanding of LAN and WAN systems and architecture.  Shall understand the following protocols beyond layer 2 but is not limited to: OSPF, IGMP, ICMP, IGRP, SMTP.  Shall have an understanding of network hardware, installation, and troubleshooting. Areas of interest include network hardware, connections, software, and various protocols used in local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).
    • •·         Tactical Radio Operation and Configuration - Able to operate and configure a tactical radio network based upon test requirements.
    • •·         Instrumentation (Software and Hardware Configuration) - Able to install, operate and configure U.S. Army Electronic Proving Grounds (EPG) software provided by Configuration Management Specialist in accordance with test requirements.  Will be able to install and configure hardware designed by EPG from the T2D2 Laboratory.  Candidate will have knowledge of and be able to operate instrumentation outside of EPG that EPG Test Officers utilize on tests.
    • •·         Database Understanding and Practical Use - Possess a practical knowledge of SQL databases.  Candidate should be able to design queries to find, compare and analyze data based on test configuration and data requirements.

    Educational Requirements:

    High School Diploma with 4-years experience desired in the Test and Evaluation (T&E) environment and 2-years related experience working in a network environment, CCNA certification preferred.

    Future Required Qualifications:

    • •·         ABCS Platform Operation - Shall have demonstrated operating knowledge of the ABCS (TOC) platforms within a U.S. Army tactical network.
    • •·         RF Technology Knowledge - Shall possess demonstrated knowledge in RF theory. Will be able to determine the correct maintenance and tests based upon the tasks assigned.
    • •·         STARSHIP/Test Control Duties - Will be able to install, operate and configure the STARSHIP Application.  Candidate will be able utilize the STARSHIP Application and be able to control a test through test events.  Candidate will maintain professional radio etiquette.
    • •·         Electrical AC/DC Knowledge and Practical Understanding - Will be able to install and uninstall tactical and COTS equipment in a variety of service locations.  Candidate will be able to recognize when modifications are required to the power source to meet equipment specifications.  Candidate will be able to build appropriate cables for uncommon equipment and systems.

    Physical Requirements:

    Candidate must be physically able to stoop, bend, and lift equipment weighing up to 50-lbs.  Move about freely in a laboratory environment, lifting and reaching. Work includes visual inspections inside and outside.  Must be able to climb ladders, crawl and maneuver in and out of confined spaces. Work is performed in a variety of environmental conditions, with exposure to temperature variations, noise, and dust; may involve working outside in direct sun and standing on hard and rough surfaces or terrain for short periods of time.

    Additional Requirements:

    Able to work varied shifts, weekends, overtime and travel as required. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record. Candidate must: be able to handle stress; work well under pressure; possess interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment; possess solid written and oral communication skills; be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment; and be proficient using a PC and MS Office Suite.
