    Hello!

My name is Maegan Sakievich and I am a Community Support Coordinator with an organization called Army OneSource.  At the moment we are working to connect with organizations such as yours, to speak about a new initiative Army OneSource has been working on; it is a continuing education course called “Invisible Wounds of War course”.  This course focuses on the needs of the modern Military Personnel and their Families.

Many people are affected by the Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) conflict in Afghanistan, and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) conflict in Iraq. There are 24.3 million veterans currently alive, and nearly three-quarters served during a war or an official period of conflict.  Approximately 63 million people are potentially eligible for Veterans Administration (VA) benefits and services, because they’re veterans or the family members of veterans.

While it may be assumed that any post deployment mental health problems of service members and veterans would be identified and treated with in the Department of Defense/Department of Veterans Affairs medical care continuum, available data suggest that only about 37% of the people qualified for DOD/VA benefits will seek assistance from the VA. This means there is a silent majority not receiving the care they need or are opting to use community services instead.  We would like to help the community behavioral health professionals become more involved by knowing the right questions to ask and the best way to help our Military and their Families.

The “Invisible Wounds of War” is a three hour online course that can be taken at an individual’s leisure and is free of cost to them.  I would like to set up an account for your organization to begin having your licensed professionals profit from the knowledge gained through this course.

I am hoping that you and your co-workers will be able to take this course as soon as possible as that only the first 4,000, nationwide, will be able to take the course for free; after which there will be a small fee attached to the course.

Please contact me at maegan.sakievich@serco-na.com for the course instructions and identification code to access this course.

I would like to thank you in advance for your time and hope that this course will be of great assistance to you as you continue to help Soldiers and Family Members.

    Thank you!

    Maegan

DOD Welcome home-small.jpg A welcoming home for our Troops.

Welcoming home our men and women doesn't end after the crowd disperses, it MUST continue on for the life of the Veteran! They've served us, now we will serve them with programs that work so they reintegrate into society.

We are a national public benefit nonprofit organization that educates American Communities about best practices to serve Veterans.  We honor their service by empowering Veterans to apply their training and skills to successfully transition to productive careers and enterprises.

We provide free vocational training 24/7 to all of our members through our website, in addition to local events.  We believe the tenet that American Communities are the ultimate beneficiaries when Veterans claim their benefits and invest in productive endeavors.

The SWVBRC enlists the support of members of local Communities like you to increase Veteran awareness of the value of obtaining a VA card and receiving earned benefits.

Sponsorships, donations, volunteers and support from communities like yours enable us to reach out to Veterans and empower them to transition back into successful, productive enterprises that ultimately benefit all Americans and support future generations.
