    The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user. 

    Seapower Capability Systems:

    Seapower Capability Systems (SCS) is IDS' business area dedicated to the development and delivery of critical seapower capabilities to the global joint battlespace. Offering reliable, NoDoubt™ solutions, Raytheon's SCS is a leading provider and integrator of submarine and surface ship combat management, anti-submarine, mine warfare, and integrated ship systems, as well as sensors and torpedoes for U.S. and allied fleets.  We are considering candidates for this position pendi! ng contract award in early 2010.

    JOB TITLE:  Consulting Training & Development Specialist

     

    Perform duties as the Technical Manual and Training Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) Program.

    The individual will provide subject matter expertise for the IETM and Training tasks in support the CANES program.  The individual will work collaboratively with the CANES team to conduct the following tasks:

     

    Provide technical manuals (maintenance and software user manuals) in accordance with military specifications using raw engineering source data:

    Technical description of systems and equipment

    Operating procedures

    Maintenance procedures

    Theory of operation

    Functional diagrams

    Troubleshooting procedures

    Software descriptions

    Software operations

     

    Provide Job task Analysis, Training System Design and Course Development for the CANES Program.  Training development tasks for CANES include:

    Perform Navy Job Analysis (NJA)

    NJA Data Repository

    Performance Solutions Reporting

    Establish Learning and Performance Objectives

    Track Training Test Results

    Propose Media Analysis Solutions

    Propose Training Solution

    Plan Pilot Training

    Training Test Package Build

    Equipment Facility and TTE Planning

    Build Training Content and Supporting Materials

    Install Schoolhouse TTE

     

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.  A combination of education and experience may substitute for degree.

     

    Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance

    8-10 years of Technical background--ability to write about technical systems and read schematics with background in developing technical manuals and training materials for integrated systems

    Demonstrated experience working in diverse Integrated Product/Process teams and managing multiple priorities in a schedule-driven environment.

    Familiarity with DoD and Navy standards for the development and production of training programs and courseware

    Strong background in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word

    Experience with US Navy shipboard electronics systems

     

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Experience with BroadVision’s QuickSilver desktop publishing

    Experience using Arbortext Editor

    Experience in writing XML-tagged documents

    Experience in IETM and Training database development (EAGLE, Microsoft Access or other) is a plus

    Excellent and demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface with management, team members, sub-contractors and customers

    Experience in the disciplines of Reliability, Maintainability, Availability, Systems and/or Software Safety, and Human-Systems Interface (HSI)
