    MAJOR DUTIES:

    As the Executive Officer for Manufacturing, your direct reports will include Division Chiefs for:   1) New Product Research, Design, and Development, 2) Environmental, Safety and Health, 3) Engineering and New Technology, 4) Finance and System Support, and 5) Materials/Production Planning.   Your duties will include:

     

    ·        Plan, organize, and direct day-to-day operations of the United States Mint Manufacturing function.

    ·        Be responsible along with the Associate Director for the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing responsibilities.  

    ·        Participate with the Associate Director in the management of the office, which involves providing executive direction and close coordination of all Manufacturing program activities for the production of circulating, numismatic as well as bullion coinage.

    ·        Assist in ensuring Manufacturing Department and Plants' activities are aligned with the United States Mint's Strategic Plan and the vision/direction of the Director/Deputy Director.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:


    ·        You must have a degree in professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR

    ·        You must have a combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.     ·        Experience in fiber channeling, MS clustering, VMware/virtualization, SAN engineering (partitioning, configuration, RAID setups & swaps, etc), measuring and tuning network throughput specifically from the SAN to the RDBMS servers.

    ·        Strong MS Active Directory skills in a multi-domain/multi-segment environment and a strong track record of working with external vendors on solution components.

    ·        Experience working in a large data center interacting with multiple teams and projects.

    Desired Qualifications: MS Server 2008 would be considered a plus.  Prefer ITIL v2 (v3) certifications and proven integration experiences among major IT processes and activities.
